Homemade Cleaners

I love this. Thank you! I like to buy white vinegar in bulk from Costco and use it for cleaning purposes. But a lot of these other ones, I hadn't heard of. Very cool. A couple other things I like to use vinegar for:

1. Throw some vinegar (about a cup) in your dishwasher and run it on a full cycle. This cleans the inside of the dishwasher and significantly reduces hard water spots on subsequent dish runs.

2. Soak paper towels in white vinegar and wrap them around gucky faucets. It will loosen the white/blue/green mineral deposits and make cleaning them much easier.

Cool Shay! This isn't an issue in Veags but my mom told me when I moved to humid-town USA to throw some vinegar in with my laundry loads to help reduce mildew.
BTW, do you run your vinegar cycles when the dishwasher's empty?

To answer your question...
If I want to focus just on cleaning the inside of the dishwasher, I'll usually run an empty cycle. But I've thrown vinegar in plenty of times when there have been dishes in there. Especially if hard water spots have started to accumulate and the glasses begin to look a little filmy. They usually come out sparkling when I use some vinegar along with the regular detergent. (I literally just throw the vinegar in there, as opposed to putting it in the detergent compartment).
